The chart above shows the Carbon dioxide emitted from various types of transport in the European region. On the Y-axis different types of transport is mentioned and on X-axis grams of CO2 per passenger-KM is mentioned. Overall, it is seen that the highest amount of approximately 380 units of pollution is due to Air based transport and second in list is Passenger cars. The lowest contribution of around 35 units is given by Coaches. The emissions of Maritime and Rail is almost same upto 48 units.
The second chart is a Pie chart showing the percentage of Transport Funds of European union for year 2007-2008. The highest investment is done on the transportation through roadways. The above chart shows that 52% of total invested amount is utilized in roadways. The Railways stand second in list with 31% of overall funds. For Intermodal, inland waterways and Airports the least and equal 1% percentage of funds is invested.
