table depicts the rate of people located in different regions
The given table depicts the rate of people located in different regions and the total population on Earth during the surveyed period of 1950-2050
Overall, it is clearly seen that while the number of people locating in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Oceania followed upwards trends, the remaining areas witnessed opposing trends in the distribution of population. In addition, it is striking that the global population has growth rapidly from 2,5 to 6 billions and is estimated at 9 billions in 2050.
A closer look at the chart reveals that regardless of time, the Asian made up most of the world population. To be more specific, this percentage was reported at 56 percent in 1995, increased to 6 percent in the next 50 years and is expected to meet 59 percent in 2050. Similarly, the proportion of Africa dwellers had grown up by 4 percent from only 9 percent in 1950, and is forecast to rocket to 20 percent, making it the second most populous area in the world just behind Asia. The first 50-year period experienced a light rise from 6 to 9 percent in the rate of Latin American citizens; however, this figure seems to stabilize at 9 percent in the subsequent 50 years. There was not much changes in the number of people living in Oceania as its range was only around 1 per cent.
In contrast, the proportion of European plummeted from 22 to 12 percent and is predicted to decrease by 5 percent in 2050. North America accounted for only 7 percent of the total global population; nevertheless, the percentage has the tendency to decline to approximately 4 percent after 100 years.
