To comments with, the total number of workers account for 130,750, which contained 76,786 women and 53,954 men, whereas the total number of factories comprised 272 in the year 1851. In addition, in the following 20 years, the overall trend of workers and both men and women declined of a three-fold was observed, while factories rose over 600 in 1871.
Furthermore, between 1881 and 1901, the overall trend of factories fluctuated between 620 and 710, accounted for 623 at the end. The initial figure of people showed decline drastically to 13,375 and 25,567 for male and female ones respectively, which was a reason for the decrement in the total number of workers (38,694) in 1901.
