Essay topics:

The table shows the Proportions of pupils attending four secondary school types between 2000 and 2009. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The table illustrates the Proportions of pupils attending four secondary school types between 2000 and 2009.
Overall, the number of students attending Voluntary schools and Community schools accounts for a higher proportion than the other two schools.
In 2000, Voluntary-controlled Schools enrollment was quite high at 52%. While the number of students in the remaining schools is quite low such as Grammar Schools at only about 24%, Specialist Schools and Community Schools account for only 12%. However, this number changed through 2005 and 2009 as Community Schools increased and other types of schools decreased. Specifically at 58%, Community Schools accounted for more than half of all students in Scotland in 2009, an increase of about 46% compared to 2000. This is in stark contrast to Voluntary-controlled schools. In 2005 and 2009 the enrollment ratio at this school dropped sharply, from 52% to 38% and 20% respectively. The rest of the schools have a relatively small percentage of students. Specialist Schools, for example, fell to 10% in 2009, a small change from 2000.
In short, Voluntary-controlled schools and Community Schools have much higher student populations. These numbers will change over the years.
