The tables below give information about sales of Fairtrade*-labelled tea and pineapples in 2010 and 2015 in five European countries.
The tables compare the amount of money spent on fairtrade tea and pineapples in five different European nations in two years 2010 and 2015.
It is clear that sales of fairtrade tea increased in all five countries, while the sales figure for pineapples only rose in three out of the five nations over the period shown.
In 2010, Austria saw by far the highest sales of fairtrade tea and pineapples, at €4 million and €16 million respectively. In 2015, sales of fairtrade tea in France went up dramatically from €2.5 million to €21 million and became the highest figure compared to other countries. Meanwhile, Austria's sales figure rose more slowly, at €8 million. At the same year, the expenditure on fairtrade pineapples saw a significant rise in Austria to €48 million compared to €6.5 million in France .
In contrast, the sales of two fairtrade products were lower in Germany, Netherlands, and Norway. The money spent on fairtrade tea grew slightly in these countries to below €3 million, whereas the sales of fairtrade pineapples fell in Norway and Germany in 2015.
