The given tables illustrate the information about sales of coffee and bananas which has been labelled by Fairtrade in 5 different European countries over 5 year period in between 1999 and 2004. In general, sales of both products had grown within this period in European countries.
The tremendous increase can be noticed from sales of coffee in UK from 1.5 million to 20 million euros between 1999 and 2004. Sales of coffee in Switzerland has been doubled within five years from 3 million to 6 million. Despite, it is depicted from the table that there is slight increase in sales of coffee in Denmark and Sweden from 1.8 to 2 million and from 0.8 to 1 million over 5 years respectively. Similarly, the sales in Belgium also has been grown in small share from 1 to 1.7 million euros.
Numbers in sales of banana has got totally difference from sales of coffee. The huge spike can be seen in sales of banana in Switzerland from 15 to 47 million euros from 1999 to 2004. In UK, sales have swelled up from 1 to 5.5 million and in Belgium this figure has climbed from 0.6 to 4 million over 5 years period. However, in Sweden and Denmark, we can see downward figures which lead to reduction in sales of banana from 1.8 million to 1 million and 2 million to 0.9 million euros respectively.
