Task 1: The table gives information about five types of vehicles registered in Australia in 2010, 2012 and 2014
The table compares five categories of transportation in Australia in three years 2010, 2012 and 2014. Overall, all five sorts of vehicles followed an upward trend. Additionally, the number of passenger vehicles were generally registered more than the other means of transport while the registration of motorcycles saw the biggest change.
It is clear from the table that in 2010, there were 11.8 million passenger vehicles registered, and this number was nearly five times higher than the figure of commercial vehicles, only at 2.3 millions. By contrast, the number of motorcycles and heavy trucks was significantly lower at only 540 thousand and 384 thousand. Meanwhile, the data of light trucks was lowest, at 106 thousand.
As you can see, the number of passenger vehicles grew dramatically to 13 million and maintains its first rank followed by commercial vehicles at 2.7 million in 2014. Otherwise, the figure of motorcycles continued to rise in the next two years and reached 13 million in 2014. In addition, the number of heavy trucks and light trucks witnessed sharp increases to 416 thousand and 131 thousand. During the period, the number of motorcycles changed most and. On the other hand, the number of heavy trucks saw the smallest rise at 8.3%.
