Task 1: The tasks below show the top 10 countries in terms of tourist destination, revenue and spending. Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.
The three charts provided illustrate the connections among the top 10 countries in terms of tourist destinations, revenue and spending and it is interesting to note that there are correlations between each pairs.
Overall, the top countries with the highest investment on tourism had received the greatest earnings and the largest number of tourists, except for Japan and the Netherlands.
Looking closely at the data, the correlation between top destinations and top earners is likely to be not totally accurate. While having 47.1 million visitors, stood at the fourth place, the United States was leading in revenue, namely 74.2 billion dollars, as three times higher than that of France which had the largest number of tourists (70 million). The relationship between Spain and Italy is similar to the case of the USA and France.
As can be noticed from the information that the higher the expenditure spent on tourism, the greater the income gained. This trend is appropriate for most of the top countries except for Japan and the Netherlands, which expense on tourism was among the top 10 regions, however did not appear on the top famous tourist attractions as well as top earners. While Poland and Mexico got 18.8 and 19.3 million tourists, they did not appear among the top earners, and though profit up to 8.6 billion dollars, Australia was not recorded as the top popular destinations for tourists.
