Task 1 writing - Women employed in four countries
The line chart illustrates the number of women who were employed in four countries: United of America, Korea, Afghanistan and France from 1985 to 2005.
It is clear from the chart that USA had the highest number among the four countries. Moreover, three countries (USA, Korea, France) saw a dramatic increase in the number of female workers while Afghanistan showed a reverse pattern.
In 1985, nearly 45% of USA women went to work and this proportion reached a peak of 65% in 2000, then it slightly decreased to 60% in 2005. Although the lowest number is just 20% of Korean women had a job in 1985, it rose sharply to 40% in 2005. In contrast, France saw a substantial decline from 40% to almost a third from 1985 to 1990, then this rate went up significantly to 55% in 2005.
About one third of Afghanistan women are employed in 1985 and this figure rose considerably to 40% in 1995. Suddenly, it dropped dramatically to 10% in 2000 and continued to decrease to a very small fraction, just 2% in 2005.
