Overall, there was an increase in the amount of spending in Teachers’ salaries, Furniture and equipment, and Insurance; however, a decline was witnessed in that of Resources and Other workers’ salaries. Also of particular note is that Teachers’ salaries consistently had the highest figures throughout the period, while the opposite was true for Insurance.
As can be seen from the charts, Teachers’ salaries made up the greatest amount of total school spending, with 40% in 1981. Then, this experienced a significant rise to a peak at 50% in 1991, before ending the period at 45%. Moreover, the spending of Furniture and equipment decreased considerably from 15% in 1981 to 5% in 1991, but then substantially increased to 23% in the end. In the meantime, Insurance was the least prime in the amount of school expenditure, despite witnessing the steady growth from 2% in 1981 to 8% in 2001.
On the contrary, 28% school expenditure spent in Workers’ salaries in 1981, with a subsequent significant decrease to 15% in 2001 .Similar changes could be seen in the amount of Resources spending, with its figure matching that of Furniture and equipment at 15% in the year 1981, followed by a decline to 9% at the end of the period.
