The three pie charts provide information about how total school spending of a UK school percentagewise was changed in the years 1981,1991, and 2001. Overall, insurance contributed the least to the total school spending during the period shown in the charts. In comparison, for the same period teacher’s salaries become the largest costs segment.
Moving to a more detailed analysis, in 1981 teacher’s salaries sector accounted for almost the half of total school spending, 40% and increased in 1991 which accounted exactly the half, 50% and remained the highest in 2001 with 45%. Another sector with the same trend was resource segment. In 1981 it was 15%, and had a slight growth of 5% in 1991, but it fell to 9% in 2001. Insurance had a progressive growth in all three years. It was 2% in 1981, and increased of only 1% in 1991, and accounted for 8% in 2001.
By contrast furniture and equipment had a dramatically decline in 1991 by 15% to 5%, and a significantly growth in 2001 with 23%. In comparison, other workers’ salaries slightly decreased by 1981 to 2001. It was 28% in 1981, decreased of 6% in 1991, and accounted for only 15% in 2001, almost the half then of the beginning of the period.
