The two pie charts give information about the average percentage of expenditure by students at one university from 2000 to 2010.
Overall, in both surveyed years, the most significant utilization of students' money was for food and drink and utilities, which together accounted for over half the proportion of expenditure, while holidays and eating out generated the least amount of spending.
It is noticeable that the rate of food and drink consumption remained stable at 29%, which is also the highest ratio in both surveyed years. Meanwhile, the amount of holidays spending maintained the lowest level of total proportion of expenditure, at 5%. The remaining rate that stayed stable in that 10-year period was for sports and cultural activities, with a score of 17%.
It is clear that fewer and fewer people spent their money on clothing, as the bar graphs show a significant downward trend in the quantity of clothing payments, which had dropped from 16% to 5% over 10 years. In contrast, the amount of money spent on utilities (electricity/water) climbed from 21% to 27%, and the rate of eating out expenditure went up to 8%. Lastly, the figure of transport rate had a slight growth, from 8% to 9%.
