UK school's expenditure
The given charts indicate the proportion of a school’s expenditure per year in the UK in 1981, 1991 and 2001.
It is clear that this UK spent most on paying salaries for its teachers in three research years. Additionally, while the totals for expenditure in these years were similar, there were small differences in change of each constituent’s percentage.
Teacher’s wages accounted for 40% of total school spending in 1981 which was the highest rate shown in the first chart. This item raised to 50% in 1991 and declined slightly to 45% in 2001. By contrast, the UK school spent least on insurance in 1981, 1991 and 2001 with a consistently increasing trend, at 2%, 3% and 8% respectively.
On the other hand, the proportion of other employee’s salaries always stood at a quite high level in school’s spending in three years and witnessed a gradual decrease from 28% in 1981 to 22% in 1991 and 15% in 2001. While the figure for furniture and equipment still remained at the same percentage of 5% in 1991 and 2001, the rate of spent resources experienced a rapid decline in 2001.
