The usage of oil in four different countries between 1966 and 2006 as a percentage of total energy use within each nation
The line graph shows that the percentage of oil consumption in Iceland, Sweden, Italy, Turkey from 1966 to 2006 as the proportion of each nation’s total energy usage.
Overall, it is clear that Turkey’s oil usage proportion definitely increase, while the other 3 nations mentioned in the graph inclined to go down during the period. Meanwhile, the rate of oil usage in Italy remained relative consistent, but Sweden and Iceland’s percentage slumped.
Looking at the line graph more closely, one can see that Turkey began the race as the lowest rate of oil usage nation, but to 2006 it stood out as the most oil consumption rate at 90 percent, which closely to Italy’s oil usage at the same time. Italy’s proportion consistently high maintained a share of oil, between 80 percent and 90 percent, throughout the period. In contrast, Sweden and Iceland’s rate of oil suffered a significant decrease by approximately 40 percent during the first half of the period. Iceland experienced a slight up in 1996 then hit a low of 20 percent in 2006, whilst Sweden’s oil usage percentage continually plunged to approximate 30 percent throughout the end of the period.
