You have just read an article in an international travel magazine which contained some information about your town that is incorrect.
Write a letter to the editor of the magazine. In your letter
correct the information in the article
explain why it is important for the magazine to give correct information
suggest what the magazine should do about this situation
Dear Sir,
I am glad to know that you have published a detailed article regarding my city, Lahore, but unfortunately there is some false information in the magzine and I request you to amend and republish the article.
The article was published on 22, December 2019 and it was about the tourism activities in the historic city of Lahore. It is mentioned, that the Lahore city authorities have banned the entrance of foreign tourists in the grand Badshahi Mosque, which is completely false. Last week I visited the mosque and talked some of the administration about the matter. I came to know that everyone is welcomed to visit the mosques and take pictures from 11 am to 8 pm., 7 days a week. There is no such conditions as written in the article.
As a world renowned magazine, you people should at least verify the information before publication. It is the matter of the country's reputation and you should consider it first. Lahore is among the world's top favorite tourist destination and such false information could effect the tourism in the country, thereby, it is important to print wisely.
I request you to please republish the article in the next edition by highlighting the facts which were wrong in the previous edition. This would really help in portraying a better image of my hometown.
I expect your reply at your earliest.
Yours faithfully,
Wajeeha Umer.
