Writing task 1
The line graph illustrates the number of students who graduated from university in Canada over a period of 15 years ( between 1992 to 2007).
Overall, the number of female graduates increased over the period given, while for males it decreased. Even at the start of the period, women represented more in number in comparison to their counterpart men which was almost always constant and followed similar trend in the graph from beginning to end of the period.
With regards to the number of female graduates, it began at around 100,000 at 1992 and then increased steadily 104,000 in the year of 1995 before falling to the previous number again in 1998. This figure then started to climb dramatically and peaked at just below 150,000 in the final year.
On the other hand, the starting number of male graduate in the year of 1992 was about 70,000, which was 30,000 lower than that of female. This number followed the female graduates like a parallel line and rose to a peak of about 760,000 in the year of 1995 before declining to just a little above 70,000 in 1998. Likewise, after that period, the number fluctuated for a while before finally reaching to a number of 95,000 in 2007.
