The bar charts provide information about Japan's population for the past, present and future. Whereas, the table illustrates the count and the percentage of geriatrics for 4 years.
Overall, the population increases rapidly for several years then, plummeting to nearly the same number of people as the start of the period. In the case of the elderly, the population rises steadily reporting to nearly half of the nation's populace.
In 1950 the bar graph reports the overall population to be 84.1 million. It then has a rapid surge reaching the highest count of 127.1 million in 2005. However, in the later years, the population would decrease drastically and falls down to 89.9 in 2055.
With regard to the elderly, the population rises significantly. Although, at the start of the period, the count was only 4.1 million and contributed to 4.9% of the overall population. Throughout the years the population drastically increased and the count was reported to be 25.7 million in 2005 and was 20% of Japan's population. Moreover, the count would further increase in the future, and the older generation would be 36.5 million holding 41.0% of the entire countries population.
