During a recent plane journey, you sat next to a businessman who owns a chain of restaurants. You talked to him and he suggested that you should contact him about a possible job in one of his restaurants.
Write a letter to this businessman. In your letter:
- remind him when and where you met
- tell him what kind of job you are interested in
- say why you think you would be suitable for the job
Dear Mr. Fitch,
I am writing in response to our conversation earlier about a potential vacancy in your new Italian lounge.
As you may remember, we met in the aircraft when we were travelling from Sydney to Toronto 3 days ago on 5th August 2019. We sat next to each other in the business class but we only started chatting when the airplane almost crashed with an eagle in the air.
I am excited to try the interior designer role of your new Italian lounge in Toronto, from drafting the floor plan to selecting furniture and materials. I can also advise your procurement team on the items to purchase for your new store, including utensils and art pieces.
I believe I am capable to take up the role. I have spent 5 years in ABC Design Inc., the global design service company, and I am specialized in designing concept stores and food chains. Also, I was one of the members of the design team for the successful Italian ABC Company project in New York.
I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Yours sincerely,
Eliz Smith
