During a recent plane journey, you sat next to a businessman who owns a chain of restaurants. You talked to him and he suggested that you should contact him about a possible job in one of his restaurants. Write a letter to this businessman. In your letter,
remind him when and where you met
tell him what kind of job you are interested in
say why you think you would be suitable for the job
Dear Mr. John,
It was a pleasure meeting you and having a talk with you. I am writing to express my interest in working at one of your restaurants in Bangalore.
I hope you remember our discussion during the plane journey on last Tuesday, when we shared the same flight from Delhi to Bangalore, regarding your restaurants in various cities across the country.
Since I am studying for my Master's degree in Bangalore, due to the scarcity of money, I could not arrange my tuition fees. Thus, I would like to apply for the position of a chef in your restaurant, located in Bangalore, for the night shift. Needless to say, it would be beneficial to cope with my financial crisis.
Moreover, of particular relevance is the fact that I possess an advanced level certificate, for my skills in preparing Italian cuisine, from International Cookery School. Thus, it would provide gratification if I could use my cooking skills to earn my livelihood and pay for my studies. In addition to this, I would be grateful to work with such a recognized brand.
Kindly consider my application. Also, I have attached my curriculum vitae as well as a copy of the certificate with this letter.
Yours sincerely,
Jaskaran Kaur
