A friend has written to you asking for advice about a problem at work. You have had a similar problem in the past.
Write a reply to your friend. In your letter:
Tell your friend you understand the problem.
Explain what happened to you in the past.
Suggest possible solutions to the problem.
Dear John,
I’m writing this letter to try and solve your issue at work, I remember that I had to go through the same situation at my work place.
I completely understand what you might be going through because I was in the same shoes four months ago. I just want to assure you that this too will pass and you will be fine. I will try my best to sort out your problem.
I had lost my office laptop which had the all the project information of my work while travelling home. I had to submit a report of my work and presentation was due the coming week. I was almost done with my work but had not saved it. This could have cost me my job and my career was in jeopardy.
The first thing you ought to do is to file a police complaint so that they will be able to trace your laptop, in my case it really worked as they were very efficient. Meanwhile you should start again collected the data from your colleagues and start working on your project so that at least the work is not hindered from your side.
Best Wishes,
Donna.
