Nowadays, with the advancement in technology and the internet, watching movies, series, and other videos on computers or smartphone is more frequent than before. However, others argue that to enjoy movies to full extent, going to the movie theater is a must. This essay will discuss the merits and demerits of this development.
To begin with, these days, a majority of people own laptops, smartphones, and tablets with high-speed internet, where they can watch free movies, music videos, and different news channels for free. Moreover, they have the freedom to watch movies on their gadgets without traveling to the theater. Because of limited capacity, booking tickets for the movies is full of hassle, also the movie ticket can be expensive as well. In addition to this, there are numerous streaming websites such as Netflix, Hotstar, and Amazon Prime, which are providing high definition, latest, and popular movies for a very insignificant price.
However, watching movies in the theater provides a full form of entertainment, for example, in my country, multiplex theaters are built inside the malls, hence adults and youngsters prefer to visit mals for shopping, food, and watching movies with their friends and family on weekends, which provide them the ability to enjoy their whole day. Also, theaters are now equipped with huge modern screens and advance audio systems, which add exceptional effects to the movies. Moreover, advances 3D movies are produced more frequently, which tend to attract more people to the theaters. Additionally, the service at the movie theaters have enhanced exceptionally, various type of new seats such as reclyner seats have been installed viewers can also order food on their seats in these modern cinema halls.
To recapitulate, in my opinion, even though viewers have options to watch movies on their tablets or smartphones for a affordable price, yet they still prefer to watch movies in theaters to experience new audio and visual effects in movies.
