On the one hand, there are a variety of benefits of adapting to culture in foreign countries. Firstly, a person can avoid embarrassment and misunderstanding due to the difference in culture. For instance, in a Japanese house, the visitors should take off their shoes when entering or not point at people. Secondly, making local friends is a good idea to share the culture and enhance language skills. Moreover, interacting with local people is a valuable cultural exchange for both sides. The natives feel respected when the people understand their customs and the immigrants will overcome the culture shock and broaden the horizon.
On the other hand, there are still numerous advantages when living in a minority group. If a person remains his own customs and lives in a minority community, it will reduce homesickness. Besides, the minority community will make the foreign country more interesting and unique because of the mixture of cultures between Asia and the Western. For instance, Canada is a multicultural country made up of three national identities: Indigenous, French, and British. Moreover, this unique group will boost the tourism industry.
In conclusion, each country has its own beauty and culture. I believe that a person who moves into a new country should accept the culture, tradition, and beliefs.
