There are plans to build a new factory in parkland near where you live. Write a letter to the local council.
In your letter
give reasons why you are against the plans
explain why the parkland should stay
suggest what action the council should take
Write at least 150 words.
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear Sir or Madam,
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter with a hope that you will take stern action against the plan of building a chemical factory in the children's park which is just next lane from my house. This plan will have adverse effect on the local community as it is the only park in that area where children and elder people come for leisure activities. It also has several rare plant species which will be lost by the chemical waste.
This park has become a symbol of unity among the community and many of the residents have their fond memories of marriage in it. Besides that, many local festivities are held every year which gives a chance for locals to mingle with new people and it has become kind of a tradition now. As it has many rare plant species so many school visits are made for its sightseeing and if the chemical factory is constructed those visits will not be possible and school children will be deprived from their recreational activities.
It would be in the best interest of the community if local council plays an active part in convincing the factory owners about the merits and demerits of constructing the factory in the parkland and they should take legal action against the factory owners if they no solution is reached.
I look forward to your response on this matter.
Yours' faithfully
Umair Hassan
