Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter regarding an article about Pakistan that was published in your magazine last week and contained some incorrect information.
The information was related to some facts and figures. According to your correspondent, the country’s population has increased to 197 million and out of it, 50 million people are illiterate, whereas 30 million people are educated and remaining are students, which is wrong. It also says the country’s surface area is 881897 square kilometers but the actual number is different.
Actually, the fact is that the number people are approximately more than 200 million; 197 million was in 2016. Literary rate has also risen during these years and it is almost 60 million. Furthermore, the number of uneducated people and area are 27 million and 881997 square kilometers, respectively.
I would also like to bring it to your knowledge that recently an island has been discovered near Karachi, which is the largest city of Pakistan, and its area approximation is 6700 square miles. It was revealed during recent oil exploration activity by a Chinese company. Some experts also believe that owing to the Chinese involvement in the country, it seems that its population might grow more rapidly in the future.
I am looking forward for your swift and favorable action and hope that the above misleading information would be rectified and republished.
Yours faithfully,
Salman Khan
