Dear Will,
I am writing to you about the possibility of taking a fortnight off work in order to complete my Masters' degree in People Management. I have been pursuing the course from past two years and have to appear for the final semester next month. I almost finished my preparation for the finals but would require a complete 3 days to end up the syllabus of the course.
Unfortunately, all my annual leave has been used up and anytime I took off, would naturally be unpaid. Over the off time, I would be connected over email and phone calls whenever my assistance is needed. On return, I would endeavor to come into office earlier than normal time and work on the weekends to cope up with the work I missed. I have already had a word with Mr. Lee and Mr. Adams who both have agreed to take up responsibilities in my absence.
I realize that my temporary absence could be an inconvenience to the company and to the rest of the team, but in the long term, I am sure that company will also be gaining a benefit with my degree. As you aware that most of our clients require people management software, my degree would be an asset in developing it in a more efficient way.
Looking to hearing from you,
Yours faithfully,
John
