You are studying for a qualification, and you would like some time off work to complete it.
Write a letter to your manager. In your letter:
Ask for some time off to complete a qualification.
Suggest what you will do later at work if you have time off.
Say how the qualification helps your job or company
Dear Manager,
Hope you are doing great...!
I am writing this letter to request for 2 days off to prepare an examination which is held next week.
To start with, I have registered for an IELTS General test on the 25th of Jan to be eligible for an onshore opportunity. As we all gathered in the same townhall last week, everybody in my team got to know about it.
I know it needs lot of practise to appear in this exam within such a short time. But, believe me, I have been training for this test for almost a month now. Unfortunately, due to some extra workload I am unable to make up for the upcoming test. I have to invest the next couple of days anyhow. Also, I assure you that I will make up after once I am done with this test.
My target is to to score band of 8.0 overall, and this will help me look proficient in foreign countries and open plenty of chances to visit onshore or to pursue master’s overseas. Therefore, requesting you to kindly approve my leave for 15th and 16th Jan.
Thankyou for your consideration. Awaiting your response.
Yours faithfully,
Lakshay
