You have been invited to attend an interview for a place studying a course in a college. Unfortunately, because of a previous appointment, you cannot come at the time they wish.
Write a letter to the admissions tutor:
explain your position.
apologise and offer to come on another day or later the same day.
ask how long the interview will be and whether there will be any tests during it.
Dear Mrs Jones,
In this letter, I am writing to apologize that it is impossible for me to participate in the interview tomorrow evening for the following reasons. However, I intend to take the computer programming course in Cambridge University.
Tomorrow morning I am leaving at 6:00 am for Almaty to join my brother's graduation from National University. Although I have tried to skip this event, my family insists on my presence. As a result, I have to change my plans regarding our appointment. Nevertheless, it would be great, if you postpone it till the next week, so that I would not to miss the opportunity to enroll for the important course.
It would also be useful, if you share some details about the upcoming interview. First of all, I want to know how long it will last. I need to be aware of it in order to fit it in my tight schedule. Secondly, I would like you to say whether the meeting will require me to take an examination. This information would enable me to prepare well for it.
You can either send a message to my email address or call me on the following number. I look forward to your reply as soon as possible.
Yours sincerely,
Tolegen
