You have been invited to attend an interview for a place studying a course in a college. Unfortunately, because of a previous appointment you cannot come at the time they wish.
Write a letter to the admissions tutor and explain your position. Apologize and offer to come on another day or later the same day. Ask also how long the interview will be and whether there will be any tests during it.
Dear Sir / Ma’am,
My name is Huma Mohiuddin and I am writing in response to the letter sent on July 31, 2018, inviting me for an interview to be conducted for the course of Transportation Engineering the coming week.
I am very grateful to you for the proposal of interview you have sent me. I would like to apologize for not being available at that time because of another commitment. Actually, I have to take my relative to a hospital as she is suffering from a skin disease. She has neglected its symptoms and prolonged the time to find its cure and move forward for substantial treatment which has made it unbearable now for her to live with it. It is requested to make changes in the timings as per my availability if possible. I am very much interested in studying this course and would be able to be present for the interview the next day. Please also inform the duration of the interview and any test would be conducted or not.
Kindly look into this matter. Looking forward for your reply.
Regards
Huma Mohiuddin
