You have recently gone to live in a new city. Write a letter to your English-speaking friend. In your letter:
Explain why you have gone to live in the new city
Describe the place where you are living
Invite your friend to come and see you
Dear Donald,
It is always a pleasure to write to you. You would be glad to hear that I have already moved to Sydney, where I was always intended to live. An exciting news for you that last month I was offered an impressive job from a transnational company which is operated from Sydney.
Considering all the benefits and challenges, I come to the point that it is really a great opportunity for me. The company wanted me to join as early as possible and that is why I had to promptly move to Sydney. For this reason I could not get a chance to tell you about that.
However, despite this short period of time living here, I can tell Sydney is an awesome city to live. Actually we live the area named The Rocks is close to the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge. It is a nice city-living location and close to some of Sydney’s best bars, restaurants and nightlife.
If you are free in this weekend then let us celebrate in our new city. It would be enjoyable moment for us together.
Yours truly,
Matthew
