• Introduce yourself
• Explain why you think you would be suitable for the job
• Ask what work you would be expected to do
Dear Mr Smith,
I am writing to express my interest in applying for a part-time job in your hotel.
My name is Elina Gordon. Currently I am looking for a part-time job and was very pleased to come across your advertisement.
I have been living in Kalamazoo for 2 months now. I am student in Kalamazoo University studying on Hospitality Management program, and that is one of the main reasons I would like to have a job in your hotel. As a resident of this town, I have learnt all about it, visited all points of interest, including museums, aquarium, churches and clubs. I have to say that I am a real foodie, and because of that I have tried the best restaurants and cafes in the town and therefore can provide hotel’s guests with very good piece of advice. What’s more, I believe I can be an asset to your business, as I have suitable soft skills: I love working with people, sharing my thoughts, helping out and generally consider myself as an enthusiastic, energetic and hardworking young person.
At my end, I would really appreciate if you could provide details on the job duties, expected for this position. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need any further information.
Looking forward to your reply.
Faithfully,
Elina Gordon
