Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to inform you about the long waiting time to enter the shopping mall in my neighborhood. I am a resident of Changi Simei Zone 3, and have been residing there for past 15 years. Recently, I have noticed that there has been long waiting hours daily during lunch time between 12pm to 2pm to enter the mall.
Firstly, this mall is visited by all age groups especially the older generation for food and shopping. This is the only one mall located in the vicinity. When I see people standing outside for an hour just to get themselves screened and checked especially during these peak hours, I feel empathetic towards them. As these days, the weather is hot and humid, it gets really warm outside and might cause dehydration to some vulnerable groups like pregnant women, old-aged people or disabled.
Secondly, the toilets that are located on various floors are mostly occupied. The reason for this is that, the toilets on some floors are closed for cleaning. Although they have a proper schedule for their cleaning staff, apparently there are times when toilets on two or more floors are closed simultaneously.
Lastly, since no one has raised their concerns so far, I would like to take this opportunity to notify the relevant authorities to look into this matter. I suggest, the management office can get another security personnel to support the entrance during peak hours to assist these vulnerable groups and kill the queue faster. Moreover, the cleaning staff of the toilet could be a little more considerate and flexible on their respective floors, so that they do not provide any inconvenience to the disabled.
Looking forward for your prompt response.
Yours faithfully,
Nur Amirah
