You recently received a letter from a friend asking for advice about whether to go to college or to try to get a job. You think he/she should get a job.
Write a letter to this friend.
In your letter:
say why he/she would not enjoy going to college
explain why getting a job is a good idea for him/her
suggest types of job that would be suitable for him/he
Dear Ritu,
I am writing this letter in response to your correspondence wherein you have asked my advice in choosing your path. I think you should opt for a job and start your career.
To be honest, I do not recommend you to get into further studies as nowadays, other that theoretical concepts, nothing else is discussed, not even the application of the concepts. Moreover, the syllabus contents are not sync with the industry requirements. Eventually, you will start finding the whole academics monotonous with no value addition.
You are already a graduate now and people of your age have started earning. You possess a good business acumen and the basic skills to take up an office or admin profile. As you are a fresher, you can start looking for entry level or junior profiles. Considering your personality, the skill sets and qualification, you may go for any of the sectors like retail, insurance, hospitality and banking. In the course of employment, you can learn extra skills such as problem solving, team management and critical thinking.
I shall pen down hoping that my suggestions will help you take the correct decision.
Yours Truly,
Navpreet
