You recently stayed in a hotel in a large city. The weather was very unusual for the time of year and the heating / cooling system in the hotel was quite inadequate.
Write a letter to the manager of the hotel. In your letter:
give details of what went wrong
explain what you had to do to overcome the problem at the time
say what action you would like the manager to take

Hello Mr. Watson,
This letter regards a complaint about a very unsatisfactory experience I recently had at your reputed hotel in New york ,"The Venetian".
Due to an urgent seminar in New York, I chose your hotel simply because of its goodwill but to my utther disappointment, It was quite a tasteless experience. To begin with, in this freezing cold weather, the heater in my VIP room was just not working. I could not catch a wink the whole night simply because of the frozen room, and due to which the next day my whole seminar got severely impacted making my whole travelling a failure.
Nevertheless, I did try to use all blankets even the spare ones to keep myself warm which was really to no avail and was remotely helpful. I did try to call to the hotel staff as well but no one came to my rescue really.
Hence, I would want a 50% refund for my stay fees as my whole travel plans got ruined. I would also hope that you would try to get heaters in all the rooms checked if you really want to retain your potential future customers.
