You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
Last month you had a holiday overseas where you stayed with some friends. They have just sent you some photos of your holiday.
Write a letter to an English-speaking friend. In your letter:
• thank them for the photos and for the holiday
• explain why you didn't write earlier
• invite them to come and stay with you
Write at least 150 words.
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear ............,
Dear Mary,
Hello, how are you. Hope you are having a joyous time. I am writing this letter to thank you for the remarkable holiday which I spent with you in your country. I had a great time and I can never forget those days of fun and enjoyment.
I would like to thank you for sending me the photographs. All the photos are amazing bringing back the memories of the time we were together, moreover, the fun we had doing shopping, visiting astounding beaches. I am much obliged for you to invite me to stay at you place in your home country. Singapore is a beautiful place with extraordinary landscape and beaches. The Sentosa in Singapore was one the best place with restaurants offering tempting and mouth-watering cuisines, the Disney land and the amazing rides.
I apologise for writing after a long time. When I reached back home my health conditions deteriorated. I was suffering from cold, cough and sore throat. I was on strong medications and as a result I was not able return to mundane office work for a week.
I would like to invite you to visit my city Delhi and stay with me for few days. The best time to come to Delhi is October and November as the weather is pleasant. We will have a lot of fun in shopping, visiting the beautiful architectural places and having succulent food especially the famous street food of Delhi.
I hope to see you soon. Take care.
Lots of love,
Prabhpreet Kaur
