You travelled to another city on business last week, and there was a problem with
your hotel room.
Write to the hotel manager. In your letter…
- Tell the manager about the problems you had
- Explain to them how you feel about what happened
- Let them know what actions you would like them to take.
Dear Sir,
I would like to complain about some issues I had with your hotel last week. As a result of
these problems I was unable to enjoy my stay at your hotel and so I am writing to share
them with you.
Firstly, I was looking forward to make use of your hotel facilities such as swimming pool and
gym during my stay. However, on checking into the hotel I was told that all facilities are
currently being upgraded and so were not open to guests. I felt very disappointed as that
was the main attraction for booking your hotel. I think you should make it clear on your
bookings website when certain activities are unavailable in the hotel.
Secondly, the room was very hot and stuffy, and the air conditioned system was not working
properly. I was very frustrated because I was not able to get a proper night’s sleep. In future,
I suggest you should carry out a full room check before allowing guests to use it.
All in all, I was very unhappy with my stay. If you could offer me a refund or something else
by way of compensation, that would be much appreciated.
Yours,
John Johnson
