You work at home and have a problem with a piece of equipment that you use for your job.

Write a letter to the shop or company which supplied the equipment in your letter.

• Describe the problem with the equipment
• Explain how this problem is affecting your work
• Say what you want the shop or company to do

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to bring to your attention a problem with a gadget which I bought from your shop last month.

The device is a Microsoft tablet. It was a complete package, including a protective screen and a typing cover, and it is supplied with an additional battery. When I use the tablet for continues long hours, the battery gets heated up and shuts down automatically. I tried on several times to control its temperature by an external fan, but it did not work out.

Recently, I have signed a new contract with a large company as a freelancer, and I have certain commitments to deliver their work. These require high-feature applications which are provided only by this tablet. Therefore, any problem occurs to the tablet, it will affect my work progress and committed delivery dates.

I have a comprehensive warranty contract with your shop. It states that all problems are covered during the first year of purchase. I would therefore request that you treat this matter personally with your service department, and that you ensure it is fixed as soon as possible.

I look forward to the problem being resolved.

Yours faithfully,

Ayoub
