Your local council is considering closing a sports and leisure center that it runs, in order to save money.
Write a letter to the local council. In your letter
- give details of how you and your friends or family use the center.
- explain why the sports and leisure center is important for the local community
- describe the position effects on local people if the center closes.
At least 150 words. Begin your letter as follow: Dear Sir or Madame.
Dear Sir/Ma'am,
I am writing this letter to draw your attention on the closing of the sports and leisure center in our local community, motijheel.
My family members, friends and a big number of neighbours use this sports center in regular basis. In our suburban area, we do not have any community space like this. this place is not only a place for relaxation, but also a platform to do physical excercise, practice swimming and small social gathering. Few local clubs use the seminar room and rooftop area fo their weekly and monthly meeting which helps them to keep their volunteery activities running. As a result this sports and leisure center plays a vital role for the growth of the local group. People will have an unhealthy lifestyle as they will not be able to access the gym and swimming pool if the place is closed. Moreover, social clubs will face trouble o hosting meetings and social gaherings. The community will loose the harmony and tradition it has for many years now.
At this situation, I deeply believe that you will rethink about the closing of this venue and will take necessary action to make sure that the community does not lose the cenetr which has now became part of their identity.
Sincerely,
Shahla
