Your mentor recommended you to learn a new language and gave you contact details of a teacher.
Following his advice, you need to write a letter to the teacher. In your letter say:
What is your motivation to learn a new language?
How can the teacher help you?
When will you be ready to start?
I am writing to let you know that I am a native English speaker who wishes to learn French. Mr Smith, my mentor and guide has given me your reference regarding the same.
Let me explain it to you in detail. I am a travel professional who loves to explore different countries of the world, and this time I am planning to visit France. Since the French mostly like to interact in their mother tongue, I am induced to learn it. Although I know we do have the facility of google translator app available for our aid, I would prefer to acquire the skill myself.
Because I am completely new to the language, I would like to start with basics then gradually move to more advance level and eventually master the skill with the help of your expertise.
Since I am planning to embark the journey to France next month, I would like to start it as early as possible. Would you enrol me in one of courses that start next month? So that, I could gain maximum knowledge of the dialect in limited time frame.
I hope you will consider my request favourably.
Your’s Faithfully,
Kutub.
