describe what action you will take
Dear James,
I am writing to apologize for the inconvenience being caused to you owing to the disturbance coming from my house. My kitchen was in need of urgent repair, so I hired a local builder for it; however, he has turned out to be quite unprofessional. Although work could have been done in the daytime, the builder needed my presence in the evening in order to understand the plan.
Unfortunately, because of a lack of knowledge, the builder is taking too much time to complete the work. I know you will be up in arms over the noise from my house, and I am really sorry for all the trouble and distress you are facing in the evening.
I completely understand that you need to relax after a hectic day. As the kitchen work is still unfinished, I have decided that I will hire a professional builder and get the work done in the day-time.
Once again I am extremely sorry for all the trouble.
Yours truly,
Alpesh Kumar
