The graph and chart below give information about species extinctions and the threats to plant life
Given is the line graph illustrating the data on extinct animals and plants from 2000 to 2100 while the pie chart presents the figures for threats to plant life.
Overall, it is evident that the extinction rate has increased from 2000 to 2060. Additionally, human impact is responsible for much more harm to plant life than natural events.
A more detailed look at the pie chart reveals that for people’s effect, plantations account for the least percentage, at 4.7% while agriculture has the highest proportion, at 18.7%. Besides, the data on harvesting is higher compared to development, at 14.4% and 10.4% respectively, and other human influences take up 5.4%. For natural events, the percentage of natural disasters is smaller than other natural events, at 7% and 11.2% correspondingly.
Moving onto the line chart, it can be clearly seen that between 2000 and 2020, the rate of species extinctions increased slightly from 5,000 million to 10,000 million while with the prediction from 2040 to 2060, the data on those species will grow rapidly, from 25.000 million to 50.000 million. Meanwhile, with the prediction from 2060 to 2100, the number of species extinctions will decrease steeply from 59,000 million to 30,000 million.
