Nowadays, people have little awareness of the importance of the natural world. What are the reasons and how can people learn more about the natural world?
Generating profits and boosting the economic growth seem to be prioritized by humans in the modern era, as a result, fewer people are responsibly aware of their natural surroundings. Most environmental issues stem from humans’ manufacturing activities but little concern has been raised. Analyzed in the essay are the reasons for this attitude together with various methods that help trigger more knowledge about the natural world.
To commence with, although individuals have an inclination to exploit the resources that the environment offers, they are likely to forget the importance of preserving it, which can be attributed to several points. First, the rapid growth of the economy and advancement of technology has gradually improved the general living standards, resulting in consumerism and materialistic lifestyles. People indulge themselves in the convenience brought by modern developments so much that they even have no comprehension of their adverses influences on the natural world. The hectic pursuit of materials and comfortable lives have utterly drawn them away from caring for the nature surrounding them. Additionally, the depreciation of the natural world also results from the subjective attitudes of people. Due to the lack of knowledge, loads of people still believe that the resources they are utilizing these days are renewable. Thus, hardly anyone pays attention to saving energy or natural sources; they freely dispose of their waste without knowing that they are damaging the environment.
For the aforementioned reasons above, individuals, especially young ones, should upgrade their knowledge about the ecosystem through several approaches. In fact, there is a wide scope of natural programmes on television, be it Wildlife program, which illustrates a multitude of material relating to the natural world’s status along with real documentaries about many species. Hence, people need to utilize this source of knowledge to acquire pertinent knowledge. Besides, taking an eco-tour is a great method for dwellers who are into outside activities. Tourists are able to directly observe the nature and interact with creatures from the habitat while enjoying their trip completely.
In conclusion, the sky-rocketed growth of every aspect of human life together with subjective attitudes contribute largely to the lacking attention of dwellers towards the ecosystem. Thus, searching the material through media or being involved in ecotourism are suggested to fully comprehend about the present environment.
