Advanced technology has changed the way people communicate with one another as, people prefer spending their free time on social media like facebook, to make new friends and chat with them, which has further, let to lack of socialization among individuals. Moreover, types of relationships made by people have changed as they ignore members of family around them and try to connect to strangers on internet. Inspite of positive development, there are more negative developments.
Firstly, members of family and near and dear one's are ignored, they spend lot of time on internet communicating with strangers which causes weak bonding among blood relations. Secondly, they make many friends on social media and in reality left alone, we get so engrossed in making new friends that we desocialize ourselves from others, which causes loneliness and finally lead to depression, especially in youngsters. For instance, high rates of individual cases are found among new generation due to depression and loneliness as they have no one in reality to share their problems and happiness. And lastly, people get so addicted to use of technology, they end up watching objectional contents and also develop negative effects like health problems, for eg, obesity and emotional disturbance like loneliness and depression.
Some people think technology has made communication easier, as people can connect to anyone globally within seconds and also at low cost, because there are availability of video calling, skype and IMO which makes possible to call people locally as well as internationally. It has also help people to become socially active and reconnect with old friends as there is a facebook website which helps to find old and lost friends contacts. However, I think it is important to make use of technology but at the same time it is more cruicial to maintain strong relationship with people around us as they are the one's who stay with us at the difficult stage of our life.
In conclusion, technology can never replace human beings, it should be used for good of people and not to destroy relationships. Technology is productive when used in a proper way.
