Nowadays, young people admire sports stars though they often do not set a good example. Do you think this is a positive or negative development?
In the modern society, idolization has become a predominant phenomenon amidst youngsters despite the fact that the admired sport celebrities are frequently observed to be poor role models. Consequently, the impacts of such admiration are widely discussed. From my perspective / point of view, whether that reality is beneficial or detrimental depends merely on how sport figures both instill inspiration and teach life lessons to the young generation.
From a positive perspective, young individuals’ reverence for extraordinary athletes is inclined to foster both their physical and mental advancement. First, renowned people with outstanding sport credentials tend to exhibit their competent skills and share their sporty habits on a regular basis, which induce significant concerns of the young towards a physically active lifestyle. To illustrate, the adolescents, especially male ones, are often prone to exercise in an attempt to emulate global superstars such as Ronaldo and Messi. It is undeniable that such additional activities not only enhance their physical health but also cultivate their sportsmanship and passion for sports. Moreover, in order to obtain success in their career, top sport athletes usually possess valuable qualifications like persistence, bravery, enthusiasm and industriousness, which are substantially advantageous for youngsters to learn.
Conversely, notwithstanding their talents, well-known sport figures often lean towards pursuing a materialistic lifestyle that is conceivably conducive to the moral standard infringement. For instance, a multitude of football players stemming from prestigious football clubs are widely witnessed to live up a depraved life with numerous overnight parties, or even utilize addictive substances like cocaine and morphine. Additionally, several sport celebrities are recorded to cheat in global sport competitions by abusing / employing prohibited stimulants. Due to their substantial praise from the young, these behaviors have exerted an extremely harmful influence on awareness of the adolescents.
To sum up, whilst youngsters’ admiration for sport stars has brought about some downsides under certain circumstances, its positive impacts are also explicitly displayed and acknowledged.
