Contemporary society depends on instant news from around the world as well as local news. While some believe that TV news are better way how to delivery them, I, however, believe that radio news have more merits.
On the one hand, it could be argued that TV news can report a story with pictures. Live stream can in many situations give a clearer picture of a situation. As far as human imagination as well as understanding is limited by individual, picturing of a news is in vast of cases the simplest way of understanding. Moreover, if news are presented in foreign language, people can still get an essential informations from pictures. Secondly, news presented on TV can deliver more informations at one time. Take CNN for example. Since its established, CNN not only stream picturing news, but also includes written reports at the bottom of the screen. As a result, spectators can watch as well as read more news at one time.
However, from the other hand, in my opinion, I believe that radio has fairly more benefits than TV. Radio has been turned into the smallest and simplest gadgets and its available instantly almost everywhere. With wireless streaming, the most primitive gadget is able to catch a signal. With wider range of signal, listeners are able to listen in mountains as well as in the forest. However, the best benefit of news delivered by radio is their instant delivery. Presenter does not have to wait for camera to record a news. The presenter is able, anytime, simply read a message into the stream and widespread within members of the public. In case of tsunami, for example, radio station can warn people directly, without any delay.
In short, although TV news might make reports more clear, owning to they delivery as a pictures. Therefore, on balance, I believe that radio news have more merits.
