Some people think that universities should provide graduates with the knowledge and skills needed in the workplace. Others think that the true function of a university should be to give access to knowledge for its own sake, regardless of wether the course is useful to an employer.

What, in your opinion, should be the main function of a university?

definitely education plays an important role in future success of all of us, that is undeniable fact. today because of technological progresses (something that has a direct relevance to knowledge and education) to succeed in affairs,we need to possess a higher educational degree.

is it really necessary, having higher education degree to succeed in the future career?

When we ponder over this issue, we see that there is no definitive answer to this question. In my opinion, if we consider the “ future career “ as a puzzle, university education is one of the important pieces of this puzzle, that it’s essential for future success but it’s not adequate alone.

Undoubtedly, having a college education will pave the way for future success. because today, primary need for most of the new and sensitive jobs in different fields is, having higher knowledge of university . For example, in order to be a doctor or an engineer, and ... we definitely have to take courses in that profession at university and this means that, we must to have university degree about that career.

In addition, one of the prerequisites for advancement in some occupations (especially government jobs) is to have a postgraduate degree. For instance, in my country, in order to get promoted and become a manager, we definitely need a college degree. (In other say, a person with just secondary education and no more, could not be manager of some companies).

On the other hand, there are some occupations that for being successful in them there is no need to have a higher education degree and a person with secondary education or less can promote in them. For example, for being an expert carpenter or a plumber we need to have a practical experiences rather that higher eduction.

the outcome that draw in above discussion is, the need for higher education in succeed in any career is an undeniable fact despite we can say that having higher education alone cannot guarantee the future success in each person career. A person for being successful in future career as well as a higher university education degree, one must also have some other factors such as : having practical experiences, having professional behavior, having Perseverance,…
