Some people say that artists such as painters, writers, and musicians affect our lives more than scientists. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your answer and include relevant examples from your experience.
Certain people believe that creative people like painters, writers and musicians create an impression on our lives whereas other people thinks that in reality, scientists are more effective in the lives of people. Although creative artists brings better changes in the lives of people, I believe that scientists are making aware of consequences of modern way of life.
Millions of people are leading a life of misery and in certain ways everyone connect themselves to musicians when they hear the music of different emotions like sadness or happiness. It relives them of their burden of life. Similarly, painters like M.F Hussain in one picture had shown the adverse effects of modern life where we are surrounded by the mobiles, internet and ample of rubbish around. This painting was admired by large number of people and had a drastic impact on people in age from 30 to 40 as per survey from Indian government. Not to mention there is idiom which says that “Pen is mightier than the sword:, which stresses that writer is a person who can bring a significant change in the society by writing on achievements of leaders like Mr. Obama, Mahatma Gandhi and other great leaders.
Despite the above, It is a common phenomenon that research is acting as boon to people’s life, which is conducted by this intelligent scientists. Understanding the adverse effects of mobile and watching television for longer number of hours as well as understanding about detrimental effects of gases being emitted by vehicles is attributed to the fact that scientists had done strenuous hours of research to conclude on these activities. Only after realization of these facts, government had started to work about banning the vehicles which does not meet the environmental standards as people had gained awareness about not being addictive to these gadgets like television or mobiles. That why we can say that science not only protects us but provide us the right direction to live in our lives with the technology as well as with these modes of transport like cars etc.
To sump up, In spite of the better changes in life of the people due to the creative artists, I think science contributes in our understanding about the positive as well as negative aspects of the modern life.
