Should Teacher of the Year awards be decided through student evaluations of teachers, or through evaluations by other teachers? Please explain.

class="MsoNormal">class="when">when class="it">it comes to the question on teachers’ performance evaluation, some people might point out class="that">that evaluations by class="other">other teachers are more professional based on their teaching experiences. However, I agree class="that">that class="it">it’s more useful to evaluate teachers’ performances by students for reasons having to class="do">do with the improvement of education quality and the protection of evaluation equality.

class="MsoNormal">

class="MsoNormal">The most critical class="reason">reason lies in the improvement of education quality. class="it">it class="is">is the class="student">student who class="can">can class="give">give feedbacks to teachers directly because students are the main participants in the class="classroom">classroom. For example, students’ feedbacks contribute to the implementation of new teaching facilities class="like">like VR, flipped class="classroom">classroom or something class="like">like class="that">that. furthermore, they class="also">also contribute to the revision of the teaching syllabus and the design of various interactive in-class sessions. With the mutual class="feedback">feedback class="relationship">relationship class="between">between students and teachers, the quality of teaching class="would">would become class="better">better and class="better">better. In comparison, class="other">other teachers class="do">do not participate in the class="classroom">classroom and consequently could not class="give">give practical advice. For instance, I remember class="when">when I was in college, Mike, a professor teaching America literature caught up a cold during a teaching evaluation public class. As a consequence of class="that">that, he got a score did not match his abilities, which shows the impractical evaluations made by class="other">other teachers.

class="MsoNormal">

class="MsoNormal">furthermore, students’ evaluations are more objective. one the one hand, the number of students class="is">is much more than class="that">that of schoolteachers. As class="is">is often the case, the evaluation data based on a class with 30 students are much more reliable than the data from several evaluation staffs. one the class="other">other hand, there are no interest conflicts class="between">between students and teacher. Taking my own university as an example: students are always required to class="give">give teachers’ teaching evaluations online before students class="can">can view their grades. Therefore, students made evaluations without the affect of score, which seems to be more objective. On the contrary, teachers' evaluations are influenced by colleague relationships, which often mixes with their personal feelings.

class="MsoNormal">

class="MsoNormal">In short, I class="would">would class="like">like to say class="that">that teachers’ performance evaluations by students are more useful. This class="is">is because students’ evaluations are related to efficient improvement on education quality and class="also">also the impartial assess on teachers’ lesson.
