By and large, a multitude of students, prefer to have some information about their professors before deciding to whom taking their classes. There are several points which have in mind by each student individually; with this in mind, a controversy exists; as to whether the way that the professor teaching is more important to notice or his researching background. While some argue that the teaching approach of their professors, bring them about to choose him, others believe other. I, for one, subscribe to the prior group. The reasons I think so are manifold, which are elaborated upon hereunder.
Without any doubt, The way of teaching is entirely different from researching; thus, getting an award for a research, is not a reason to assert that his method of teaching is as well as his research background; To clarify my viewpoint I would like to refer to an early research done by PhD students of Sharif University Of Iran, have analyzed some research-oriented professors and feedbacks on their teaching’s methods, explored that the more a professor research-oriented is, the more self-oriented students could content him; conversely, the less time the professor has placed for teaching to his students. In other words, it seems this type of professors expected students to learn more by themselves.
Furthermore, It is crystal clear that, for me as a student, the more conceptual I have learned, the more knowledge I have to research; thus, choosing the professor who is known for his influential method of teaching will be the way to lighten my way of investigating in the future, as a result of deep concepts which I could learn by the professor.
All in all, to put it in a nutshell, As a student who seeks to learn; choosing the professor who you consciously are assured with his teaching method, is a better way; on the contrast to risk with the one who you merely know his research awards.
