Automatic cars have positive impact on humans.
The author introduces the topic of self driving or autonomous cars. These cars don't need people to drive, they work based on the sensors and computer technology. The author says that these kind of carss have positive impact on the drivers. The lecturer condemns this by finding flaws in each point made by the author.
Firstly, the author says that self-driving cars reduces car crashes as car crashes are happening because of the human error. The lecturer opposes this saying that the example shared by author, that a tested self-driving car which drove around 7000 miles had a car accident month ago. Also the lecturer supports this claim saying that all the computer related works are always error prone, and raises a question that, How safe these self-driving cars are ?
Secondly the author states that self-driving cars are good for environment as they don't have to start and stop regularly which helps in reducing the pollution. The lecturer finds flaw in this saying that, self-driving cars no longer need license, which will lead to young adults driving the car and inturn increasing the number of cars that people use. Even though the pollution generated by a single car is reduced, increased nuber of cars leads to increased pollution.
Finally, the author makes another claim that, it gives people extra time, which can be used for another works like reading or spending on work. The lecturer critically disagrees this point saying that, giving extra time to do the regular work, which people always do, make people feel that driving is no more different to regular time. Also driving can be used as relaxing for few poeple, which now has no more seen as quality time. Giving extra time to do the regular work, which people always do make people feel that driving is no more different to regular time.
