Chaco

Essay topics:

Chaco

The reading states that there are three different theories about the usage of Chaco Canyon in Mexico city. The lecturer, however, finds these theories dubious and he believes that they are not convincing.
First of all, the author asserts that Chaco used to be a house for the residential of so many people. He states that the building was so large that it could contain many individuals in it. The lecturer challenges this by suggesting that the outside of the building seemed to be a place for native American's living, while the inside casts doubt whether it could be appropriate for living or not. He believes that there were few fireplaces as many as ten to be suitable for so many families. Besides, the building needed about a hundred rooms to accommodate family members.
Secondly, the author contends that they could use Chaco Canyon as a place to store their food in order not to make them corrupted. He suggests that they conserved maize for a long period of time. The lecturer debuts this statement by saying that there should be bulky maize containers in order to maintain them. In addition, there is evidence of maize spill on the ground which dismisses that it was a proper place for food storage.
Finally, the reading asserts that they used to take so many ceremonies in the Chaco building, and also they served meals and as a result, there were scatters of pots on the ground that counted as a clue. In contrast, the lecturer holds the view that there was evidence of other materials such as sands, stones, construction stuff, and trashes used to build the house. He believes that the broken parts of the pot were related to the meal of workers who built the house.
